West Bengal seeks more IAS/IPS as it plans to carve some new districts

(G.N.S) Dt. 19 Kolkata The West Bengal government is planning to carve five or more districts out of its existing 23. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, at a cabinet meeting, decided to request the Union government to assign more IAS and IPS officers to the state for the same. She asked chief secretary H K Dwivedi to write to the Centre about West Bengal’s acute bureaucrat crunch and seek more officers
