A fortnight after waiting for the return of his 29-year-old techie son, suspected to have been abducted from Whitefield, Ashok Kumar Sinha is gearing up to file official petitions to get the case transferred to CBI. The retired banker presently camping in the city and following the police probe has claimed that the case should be handed over to the central agency as there could be the involvement of specialised interstate gangs.
“It seems my son was taken away in a very planned operation. It seems like a complex case,” Sinha added.
His son Ajitabh Kumar had driven out of his Whitefield residence on December 18 6:30 pm and had been out of communication since then. He had earlier posted an online advertisement on a classified portal seeking buyers for his Rs 13.6 lakh worth Maruti car to fund his MBA course at IIM Kolkata. Police suspect that someone could have contacted him in connection with the ad and lured him out of his home. Police said that his last mobile tower location was found to be in Gunjur and after that he along with the car has vanished into thin air. DCP Whitefield Abdul Ahad has formed special team and as many as 60 people are working on the case. Police initially lodged a missing case initially but later it was registered as an abduction case after preliminary probe revealed foul play in the incident.
