FM Nirmala Sitharaman among forbes world 100 most powerful women list

Nirmala Sitharaman’s efforts to improve the country’s economic condition may not have paid off yet, but her work is definitely being discussed globally. Forbes has included Nirmala Sitharaman in the list of 100 most powerful women in the world. The list also names Roshni Nadar Malhotra, CEO of HCL Corporation and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, founder of Biocon.
India’s first female Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is at 34th position, Roshni Nadar Malhotra at 54th position and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw at 65th position. Nirmala Sitharaman is the first woman Finance Minister of the country. However, as Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister, she kept the responsibility of the Finance Ministry with her for some time. Earlier, she was also the first woman Defense Minister of the country.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel tops the list. He has been at number one for the last 9 years. Second in number is Kristin Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank. US lawmaker and speaker Nancy Pelosi is third on the list. Neighboring Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasin ranks 29th on the list.
by Milinda Gates at number six, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty at ninth, New Zealand Prime Minister Jesinda Andren at 38th, and Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump at 42nd. Rihanna ranked 61st, Beyonce at 66th, Taylor Swift at 71st, tennis star Serena Williams at 81st and Climé T activist Great Thünberg ranks 100th.
