Roger Federer stunned at Miami, to lose number 1 ranking

]Men’s world number 1 Roger Federer suffered a shock defeat 6-3, 3-6, 6-7 at the Miami Open.

The Swiss maestro was defeated by world number 175 Thanasi Kokkinakis in a two-hour and 21 minutes duel.

Federer has decided to skip the clay court tournaments this season, which includes the French Open as well.

This, in turn, will see him lose his number 1 ranking.

India’s Yuki Bhambri’s run came to an end at the Miami Open after he has beaten comprehensively by Jack Sock.

The player lost the tie 3-6, 6-7 and bowed out of the tournament.

Australia’s Nick Kyrgios needed just 48 minutes, in his comeback match, to beat Dusan Lajovic in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.

6th seed Kevin Anderson beat Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-4, 6-3.

World number 1 Simona Halep faced an early exit at the Miami Open, after going down to Agnieszka Radwanska.

Halep lost the tie 6-2, 2-6, 3-6 against the 32-ranked Pole in one hour and 44 minutes.

Karolina Pliskova battled past S Hsieh 6-4, 1-6, 7-6.

Victoria Azarenka moved to the 4th round, besides Garbine Muguruza and Angelique Kerber and Sloane Stephens.

Crowd made death threats: Wozniacki

Caroline Wozniacki claimed that her parents were subjected to death threats during her match against Monica Puig. The Australian Open 2018 champion, claimed there were verbal abuses and accused the security staff of not reacting. She had lost the tie 6-0, 4-6, 4-6.
