Police dressed up as santa to give road safety tips

Traffic personnel surprised the citizens of the cyber city on Monday when they dressed up as Santa Clause and gave out road safety tips to commuters and motorists at different locations in Gurugram.Considering the increase in road accidents in Gurugram, the traffic police took this initiative to educate commuters and citizens about road safety and security. Dressed up as Santa Claus, the Road Safety Officers (RSOs) along with the Gurugram Traffic Police personnel delivered the message on road safety to drivers, and seek promises from them not to drink and drive and follow all traffic rules.
The initiative was kicked off by Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP) Traffic, Deepak Gahlawat at 12 pm from Police Booth at the Mehrauli-Gurugram (MG) road. RSOs dressed up as Santa Claus conducted a Safety Parade in the city to raise awareness about road safety.Around half a dozen RSOs and 10-15 policemen dressed in Santa Claus costumes and marched on various Gurugram roads over a distance of nearly 15-20 km to promote road safety, rules and also distribute gifts to passers-by and commuters.The locations by traffic police personnel dressed as Santa Claus were MG Road, Huda City Centre, IFFCO Chowk, Signature Tower Chowk, Kataria Chowk, Agarwal Chowk, Sethi Chowk and Mahavir Chowk.Santa and traffic personnel stopped various people violating traffic rules and explained to them how they have violated the rule and tough them impact of disobeying traffic rules. The drive went on for several hours.
