A bandh call by farmer organisations on 4tf Feb. likely to fizzle out

(G.N.S) Dt. 27
The February 4 bandh called by farmer organisations and activists from north Karnataka is likely to fizzle out with farmers contesting that it will be an “insult” to prime minister Narendra Modi by calling a bandh in his name and then seeking time from him to meet an all party delegation on Mahadayi dispute.
“We are yet to take a call on the February 4 bandh. Considering that chief minister Siddaramaiah has assured to lead an all party delegation including farmer representatives to meet PM Modi, it would be an insult to call a bandh in the latter’s name. Further, till the time PM Modi confirms or rejects giving a concrete time for us to meet him, a bandh call is not in good faith,” said Shankar Ambali, secretary for the Raitha Sena, that is at the forefront of the Mahadayi agitation.
Ambali said a final decision on the matter will be taken after seeing the development in the next couple of days.
