(G.N.S) Dt. 15
SpiceJet cancelled its Mangaluru-Hyderabad flight SG1007 on Wednesday owing to a technical issue. The flight that was supposed to leave Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) at 8.50am and reach Hyderabad at 10.25am was cancelled after what SpiceJet authorities in knowledge of the development stated was a ‘fuse off’ in the Bombardier Q400 aircraft engine after pushback. As a precautionary measure the aircraft went back to the bay.
All 31 passengers on board were deplaned following the incident. The passengers that included general manager of State Bank of India were offered alternate flights for Hyderabad which included a flight via Mumbai, a flight via Bengaluru, the evening direct flight and a flight on the next day. Some passengers who did not want to travel were offered a full refund. Steps have been taken to address the technical glitch in the engine of the grounded aircraft, a SpiceJet official statement read.Flight operations at MIA remained normal, MIA official said.
