Petrol bombs throwed at Hindu Makkal Katchi leader’s house

Unidentified people throwed petrol bombs on the house of a Hindu Makkal Katchi leader in a village near Thiruppuvanam in Sivaganga district of Tami Nadu in the early hours of Friday.
S Balamurugan, south zone president of Hindu Makkal Katchi, was not in the house when the incident happened as he was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Madurai.
Police source said a personal security guard had already been provided to Balamurugan since there was a threat to his life.
His wife Alagusarathi, father Shanmugam, brother Anandavelu and his wife Suba were present in the home when the attack happened.
The footage from a CCTV camera showed two people throwing bombs on the house while another man remained at a distance. All of them wore helmets. One of the petrol bombs exploded, and couple of two-wheelers were gutted.
On being alerted, a police team from the local station rushed to the spot and conducted inquiries. Manamadurai deputy superintendent of police R Shankar also visited the house.
Police were searching for the suspects.
