Karnataka’s primary and secondary education minister Tanveer Sait on Tuesday complained to police that he had been receiving extortion calls from men claiming to be associates of fugitive gangster Ravi Poojary over the past couple of days.
The men demanded Sait pay up Rs 10 crore or face dire consequences, the minister said in a written complaint to a top police officer. The complaint has been forwarded to the City Cyber Crime police. Police sources said the call seemed to have come from an international number, but could be an internet voice over call.
