A sitting judge of the Gujarat high court Justice G R Udhwani passed away due to Covid-19 on Saturday morning at a private hospital.
Justice Udhwani is survived by his wife and two sons. He was 59 years old, HC officials said. He began his career in judiciary as an officer of the state judiciary, and was elevated to the bench of the high court in 2012.
Justice Udhwani was appointed as a law officer in 2004 in the high court. The post he was holding was redesignated as registrar (legal). Three years later, he was repatriated to the state judiciary.
