Governor appoints T S Sastry as new VC of Ambedkar law university in TN

Tamma Suryanaryana Sastry, a professor of law at Savitribai Phule Pune University in Maharashtra, was appointed the the new vice-chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University for the next three years by governor Banwarilal Purohit at Raj bhavan on Wednesday.
In a career spanning 29 years, Sastry had served in the University of Pondicherry, Savitribai Phule Pune University and as a head of the department of Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University. A Raj Bhavan statement said Sastry had authored 60 research publications and 4 books and had a wide ranging experience of 29 years in the academic profession.
Short-listed candidates
Mr. Sastry was among the three short-listed candidates who were interviewed on Wednesday by Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Chancellor of the TNDALU.
Mr. Sastry served as professor for three years between March 2006 and April 2009 at the TNDALU after serving as lecturer and reader at Pondicherry University from 1988 to 2006.
According to his resume, his interests include international law, human rights, private international law, international economic law, research methodology in law, constitutional law, IPR and global justice.
