Director General Indian Coast Guard visits Gujarat for High Level exercises

DG Rakesh Pal, PTM, TM, Director General Indian Coast Guard is on a four day visit to the ICG North Western Region for chairing the meeting of National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan (NOS DCP) and National Pollution Response Exercise (NATPOLREX).

The Director General will chair the meets at Vadinar, Jamnagar that will see participation of Senior Government Officials, various stakeholders from across India and more than 25 Reps from Foreign countries.

The sea exercises for NATPOLREX will be carried out at sea off Vadinar on 25 Nov wherein practical simulated exercises will be conducted by ships and aircraft. IAF Transport aircraft is also taking part in the exercise along with other stakeholders like oil handling agencies viz IOCL, Reliance, Nayara, Adani etc.

ADG KR Suresh, PTM, TM Coast Guard Commander (Western Seaboard) will also be present during these meetings  and exercises.

The meets have been planned at Vadinar/Jamnagar considering the amount of oil handled by ports in Gulf of Kutch and sensitivity of the engulfed coast.
