BJP’s National Executive member Nagam Janardhan Reddy joins Congress

Nagam Janardhan Reddy was in the Telugu Desam for a long time and had also served as a minister.
Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, BJP national executive member and a former minister in the combined state, has decided to quit the BJP. Mr Reddy was closeted with followers of five mandals in the Nagarkurnool constituency on Thursday, after which he made up his mind to resign from the saffron party. Speaking to DC, Mr Reddy said he along with his son Shashidhar Reddy had sent their resignations to party national president Amit Shah.
A setback to the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), party national executive member Nagam Janardhan Reddy decided to quit the party and join the Congress. Janardhan Reddy took the decision after consulting his followers at his hometown Nagarkurnool on Thursday.
Nagam has been indicating on his resignation for the past few months and said he would take a decision after Ugadi. He has been unhappy with the party because he felt he was not being recognized and given due importance. After his indications on leaving, some BJP leaders met him and urged him to change his decision. But Nagam reportedly was firm on quitting the BJP.
