13 killed as Pune bound mini bus falls into river in Kolhapur

At least 13 people died and three people got injured after Ganpatipule to Pune bound mini bus fell into river in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur on early morning Saturday.

Three women are seriously injured and have been admitted at Chhatrapati Pramila Raje Civil Hospital for treatment.

According to reports, the bus was carrying 17 passengers who were returning from Ganapati Pule, a tourist place on the Konkan coast of Pune city.

Onlookers rushed to the spot to help the injured. The injured were rushed to the hospital. The bus ferrying 17 passengers crashed into the railings of Shivaji Bridge and rolled into the river. Search operation is underway. All the commuters belonged to Balewadi in Pune. Watch this video to know more about the news.

Initial reports suggest that the driver, due to some reasons, lost control of the vehicle and it plunged into the river after smashing through the railings.

Police say that the bus has been pulled out of the river.
